Original Mixed Media Painting

Uncle has been created with a variety of mediums. In the same style as "Family" the intial painting was set out with liquid charcoal paint. I then used a combination of stick charcoals, pastels and gouche paint. Once again, the background is not totally black - it is a combination of very dark blues and purples to give the painting much more atmosphere and depth. Overall dimensions when in card mount are 14 x 16 inches. Uncle was painted from a lovely reference photo by wildlife photographer Tazi Brown who witnessed this young male lion watching his female pack members handle the youngsters until deciding to lend a helping hand and join in :)

NB. the photos above are a mock up of how the painting could look framed in a room setting. Mother's Pride will be supplied unframed but in a card mount.
